olden times
Marty began
turning to
a different source
of inspiration,
a lost golden age hero
called Wesley Harding,
the Doughboy,
who had fought in WWII
as a volunteer
in the French resistance.
In time he retired
his Sandman look.
He ended up looking
sort of like a Mountie.
In days of yore... It's an old fashioned way of being that curmudgeon who starts every disapproving sentence with "Back in my day..."
